Dr. Anna May studied veterinary medicine at LMU Munich. She also completed her doctoral degree there, focusing on stress parameters in horses.

She then specialized in equine internal medicine through a residency program at LMU Munich and the Free University of Berlin, earning Diplomate status from the European College of Equine Internal Medicine.

She has been working at the LMU Equine Clinic since 2007 and holds the position of Senior Physician in Equine Internal Medicine. In 2020, she spent time as a senior physician at Massey University in New Zealand.

She completed her postdoctoral thesis on “Animal Welfare Aspects in Equestrian Sports, Horse Management, and Equine Medicine” in 2025.
